Luis Fuentes has always been sheltered from the gang violence that nearly destroyed his brothers’ lives. But that didn’t stop him from taking risks—whether he’s scaling a mountain in the Rockies or dreaming of a future as an astronaut, Luis can’t stop looking for the next thrill.

Nikki Cruz lives her life by three rules—boys lie to get their way, don’t trust a boy who says “I love you,” and never date a boy from the south side of Fairfield. Her parents may be from Mexico, but as a doctor’s daughter, she has more in common with her north-side neighbors than the Latino Blood at her school. Then she meets Luis at Alex’s wedding, and suddenly, she’s tempted to break all her rules.

Getting Nikki to take a chance on a southsider is Luis’s biggest challenge, until he finds himself targeted by Chuy Soto, the new head of the Latino Blood. When Chuy reveals a disturbing secret about Luis’s family, the youngest Fuentes finds himself questioning everything he’s ever believed to be true. Will his feelings for Nikki be enough to stop Luis from entering a dark and violent world and permanently living on the edge?

A beautiful story that I want to live in! I can’t find a word on how AWESOME this book is!

The third of the Fuentes brothers Luis has come of age. After his brothers encounter with the Latino Blood that made their lives at risk it didn’t stop Luis from dreaming big and taking risks. His life goal was to be an astronaut and he’s back at Fairfield to pursue his dreams. Nikki Cruz has three things to say about guys: boys always lie, don’t trust a guy who says “I love you” and I’m not dating anyone from south side of Fairfield. And then she met she met Luis at Alex’s wedding thus then she felt a connection, and she’s tempted to break all her rules. Will they find their way on each other’s arm if Luis is part of the Latino Blood? Will Nikki risk it to be with Luis even if she knows Luis is a part of a gang? Will her feelings stop Luis from being this dark and violent person and permanently stop leaving on the edge?

My Thoughts:

I honestly don’t know where to start to tell you about how this awesome story is, I have the read previous books and it was really epic that I made sure to read this third installment. I was not disappointed reading it. The whole while I’m reading this book, I felt that I’m in high school again, experiencing the ups and downs of every character in the book. Simone has her ways of engaging the reader to read the story until the end. This book mainly concentrates about Luis and Nikki though it has some Alex & Britanny and Carlos & Kaira moments which were really worth reading if you’ve read the first two books *I secretly miss Carlos though shh*. As for me I was totally hooked on the first few pages, the story of Luis and Nikki I can say will take part of me until the day I can remember. It was a beautiful story about family, trust, and LOVE. And have I told you that this one is the hottest among the three books? Like seriously I was not really expecting and SC but I think it was need but it was lightly written, I totally liked it.

On reading this book I found myself like this:
*Nikki talking to Luis*
*Luis talking to Nikki*

*Nikki saying NO to Luis*

*Nikki finding out the Luis is part of the Latino Blood*
SPOILER
hidden word below just highlight teehee
*On Luis finding out he’s just part Fuentes*

*On the Ending*

This book has totally made me insane and even made me MORE bipolar as I’m reading it. The effect of this book has captured every single emotion in me!
Luis has been a teenager as he was, he always takes risks and likes doing fun. Nikki in the mean time is a girl who has just experienced a heart broken. Both characters are equally written very well, I love to meet them in case the characters are really true! The way they were written it seem like that you know them in person, they seem to possess a quality that makes you want them to be real. The story where they’re in, is a story that will capture you in every single way! All in all I can never say anything bad against each character, I love them all. Just for the record I love all the brothers but then if I have to pick ill go for Carlos ♥
Cover is very much love! Totally love it, one thing I just notice about the cover of the three books is that the couple is always kissing. But to be honest this book has the hottest cover 😉
Overall this is one book I totally recommend! Absolutely recommend! If you haven’t read the series YOU SHOULD START IT NOW! Cause you’re totally missing how beautiful and awesome story this is, It’s a story about redemption, trust, acceptance and love! A beautiful story I dare you not to miss out. I love it, they love it, I believe you WILL love it!

  2. I'm a big fan of Simone Elkeles and the previous two books myself. I haven't had the chance to read this one yet. But from the hilarious expression u've put it seriously looks like a take-time-out-to-read book. I miss Alex so much *wink, wink* And I can't believe he's getting married in this one. Hoping to read it soon.
